Anechoic Chambers According to ISO 3745 and ISO 3744
Noise Reduction and sound design for vehicles and household appliances require appropriate testing conditions in so-called anechoic chambers according to ISO 3745 and ISO 3744. FAIST provides testing facilities, such as engine and power train test rigs, as well as vehicle test rigs for interior and exterior noise measurements. These anechoic chambers are equipped with our innovative broadband compact absorbers (BCA) conforming to ISO 3745.
In order to provide a serious alternative to conventional absorbers with a minimum size of a quarter wavelength of the cutoff frequency, FAIST and the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP) have developed a space-saving special broadband resonant absorber. This absorber achieves high absorption efficiency down to 30 Hz with a lining thickness of only 250 mm and a smooth, even surface. The BCA allows class 1 anechoic chambers for measurements according to ISO 3745 which satisfies most conditions and requirements.
