Jet engine test cells have the highest noise control requirements of testing facilities due to the extremely loud jet engines.

In order to develop a noise control concept which meets the criteria of jet engine test cells, it requires the integration of many factors including the people working on the project.  In addition to the requirements of the building, pressure, temperature and aerodynaic requirements have to be met in the turbine test cell.

The most important FAIST project related components are the sound baffles for air-intake and exhaust, elbows to direct air flow, augmenter tubes, hard or soft, including the blast basket, high performance acoustic doors and gates, as well as acoustic cladding for the remainder of the facility requiring noise attenuation.
