Due to stricter EU regulations regarding noise and vibration, German courts have adopted new laws to meet these regulations.  That means:  since that time German has set more stringent conditions regarding the maximum allowable decible level at the workplace.

The EU regulation regarding noise levels of 80 dB(A) and 85 dB(A) averaged out over a normal 8 hour workday.  If these values are exceed during a noise survey at the workplace, then the employer must adopt measures to bring these values into line.
