"Giving Time" to Seniors at Christmas

Every year at Christmas it has become a tradition at FAIST to support a charity in our area.  This year we have decided to treat the residents of the BRK Senior Center of St. Michael in Krumbach.
In addition to a monetary donation of 3,000 Euro, our trainees will personally give their time to the seniors of the center.  According to the motto of „giving time“, this year the FAIST trainees will participate in the celebrations of St. Nicholas as well as the feast of Christmas at the senior center.

„We are happy to have the opportunity to get involved on a social level“, says Annika Schüssler, industrial business management trainee. „In management or technical training we don’t really get any insight into this area.

The trainees will participate each according to his or her interests and capabilities.  Some are developing a historical Christmas card which they will present to the residents.  Others are using the computer to design Christmas trees which their colleagues will then stamp out of sheet metal and subsequently powder coat.   At the Christmas party these little trees will decorate each of the tables at the senior center.

Everyone is actively engaged in the preparations for the festivities:  from decorating the premises, picking up the residents from their rooms to serving and entertaining them.  Even afterwards, they will be involved in the clean up.   At the Christmas party each of the residents will then be surprised with an equally nice and practical present.

Managing Director, Wilhelm Braun says: I am extremely happy about the willingness of our trainees to give their time to those who are older and less fortunate than themselves.  It is very important to us here at FAIST to foster the social aspect in our training program.
